3rd Anniversary of 7/7

As we said on miriam-hyman.com in 2006, we decided that on 7th July each year we will go back to Golders Hill Park to mark the anniversary of the London bombings.

This year it was on a grey and chilly Monday, and yet around twenty people still managed to join us at the park. We gathered at 11.30am for a toast to all the vicitims of the London bombings, and one to Mim, at midday.

Although we met near the top gates because Mavis's mobility is still limited after breaking her leg in January, she was unable to join us this year. However, with the weather so unseasonably cold we were glad to be close to the cafe so that we could buy hot drinks to go with the nibbles that people had brought along.

After an hour or two we decided to take shelter from the elements at the Bull & Bush pub and there was a great atmosphere, as always. Without each other's support this day would be so different.

Thank you to everyone who joined us that day and to everyone who was not able to be there but sent messages of support. We know that there were many people who would have liked to come but who were unable to. Hopefully you will be able to join us next year.
