Current FR target: Advanced training abroad for MHCECC consultant

Our new fundraising target is to sponsor an MHCECC consultant to receive training abroad in advanced paediatric ophthalmology for one year. As with all our projects, this priority was identified by our partners, the L V Prasad Eye Institute.

The Miriam Hyman Children’s Eye care Centre has a catchment area of around 500 miles (sometimes more) and children are generally referred by physicians or general ophthalmologists for specialised care. Many of these children have complex eye diseases and a team of well trained doctors in different eye subspecialities treat them.

The MHCECC will gain wide-ranging benefits when a consultant is trained in advanced paediatric opthalmology abroad:
-Improving service delivery
-Bringing new insights to clinical care
-Raising the standard of in-house training
-Elevating the quality of research
-Enhancing the MHCECC's international relevance through the above

We need to raise £50,000 for this project
