LVPEI Wins Greenberg Prize

The L V Prasad Eye Institute is one of 13 winners who will share the Sanford and Susan Greenberg Prize to End Blindness by 2020. The fund of $3 million is intended to "build a community of purpose. To find the right people, to reach out to them, and to connect them – to close the deal" on ending avoidable blindness globally.

Sanford Greenberg is Chairman of the Board of Governors of The Johns Hopkins University’s Wilmer Eye Institute in the USA. Since he lost his sight due to misdiagnosed glaucoma in the 1960´s, he has made it his mission to work "to end blindness forever as a scourge to humanity".

The End Blindness by 20/20 website has more information.

A statement from LVPEI says, "The LVPEI family is extremely humbled and honoured to receive The Greenberg Prize. We are among a select few to receive this prestigious award, and this wouldn't have been possible without your constant support."

The MHMT congratulates LVPEI. They are rightly included in this visionary group and its noble cause.
