The Miriam Hyman Memorial Trust supports the Miriam Hyman Children’s Eye Care Centre and the L V Prasad Eye Institute, and raises awareness of childhood blindness in the developing world. We hope to assist in the development of the MHCECC into a dedicated children's eye care institute, extending service provision, training personnel in all aspects of paediatric eye care and undertaking research.
The MHMT is also addressing themes of social cohesion primarily, but not exclusively, through schools. We are collaborating with Miriam's secondary school, Copthall School, and University College London, Institute of Education to produce "Miriam's Vision: A Response to the 2005 London Bombings", an electronic education resource that gives young people the tools to work towards a safer, more inclusive society.
